Choosing a Unified Communications Collaboration Vendor?

Cisco a ‘Leader’ in Gartner Magic Quadrant Evaluation

At Unifi Communications we understand that unified communications is an increasingly important investment for businesses looking to improve productivity and customer responsiveness while reducing IT costs. Choosing a unified communications vendor is a complex decision, so whilst there are many considerations, looking at a broad set of relevant Gartner Magic Quadrants can provide an independent, highly reputable reference point for a vendor’s position in the marketplace.

In a recent report and for the second year running, Gartner has positioned Cisco as a ‘Leader’ in the 2016 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications for Midsized Enterprises. Unifi Communications believe this is a significant achievement as Gartner use a great deal of analysis in these reports.
Rob Coleman, Unifi Communications MD comments, “We put a lot of weight on Gartner’s evaluation of the UC marketplace when we decide on which solutions we recommend to our clients. There is a significant amount of detail in this report with everything from product features and functions to marketing and sales strategies covered. Gartner’s evaluation reinforces Unifi Communications’ decision to invest heavily in our Cisco expertise to allow us to provide the best possible technology to our customers.”
In the report, Gartner analysts evaluated Cisco and eight other vendors. For the second year Cisco was placed highest for “ability to execute” and emphasized the need for simple, affordable solutions for midsize organisations.
Gartner states, “Vendors in the Leaders quadrant have UC portfolios that are specifically positioned with features and functions to meet the needs of midsize businesses.”
According to Gartner, leaders:-
  • Have user and management interfaces that are integrated and generally intuitive and easy to use
  • Balance the need for customization with end users’ desire for simplicity in their licensing structures, sales demos, and UC solution portfolio
  • Have mature channel programs with distinct processes for pre sales and post-sales support.

Cisco are continually evolving and improve their offerings. BE6000 continues to get even better. Available soon, the Collaboration Systems Release 11.5 build of BE6000 will feature the latest versions of their UC infrastructure applications. The updates will also include a new license option for Prime Collaboration Analytics Business, which provides a cost-effective monitoring, diagnostic and reporting option. Meanwhile, Cisco are working with their partners to further simplify installation of BE6000 solutions.
